Margot D. (East Cumbria) on stopping smoking after 30 years
I expected to leave the 2 ½ hour session, have a last cigarette and then try not to smoke any more. I never had that last cigarette, because I didn’t want it. That was a year ago. I don’t know how it works, but it does.

Jane B. (West Cumbria) on performance coaching
I found the sessions very uplifting, gentle and fun. The process has made me clarify my goals, take control of my future and given me an inner resilience. I can now achieve the life I want for myself and my family. Change can both be terrifying and exhilarating. Going to Potential Works has given me the focus and motivation to implement changes in my life.

Eating disorders:

I developed a phobia about swallowing after nearly choking on a sandwich. Despite all my efforts, I was unable to overcome this phobia, and soon my health and social life began to suffer. Before the incident, I ran three times a week and enjoyed eating out with family and friends. The phobia stopped me from eating properly and I had no energy or motivation to continue with the activities I enjoyed. I felt desperate and increasingly low in spirits. Not knowing where to turn, I asked Jane if she could help me deal with the problem.

I had a number of sessions with Jane who used NLP techniques with me and, after a period of a few months, I was surprised and greatly relieved to find that I was overcoming my anxiety about swallowing. I am now eating normally and have been able to resume all the social activities I formerly enjoyed. Jane helped me out of what was an extremely difficult situation and I am grateful to her for enabling me to get my life back on track. Among other things, I was able to complete the London Marathon this year as a result of getting my life back.

Anger Management:

I asked my boss if I could go on an Anger Management course. I did this because my wife had left me and she said I needed to change. I thought I was going to be with a load of other people and I wasn’t keen, but my boss said he could arrange a one-to-one for me.

I’m really pleased I came. I’ve changed my life around. I can now focus on things in my life with a more positive attitude. Jane made me wake up and realise what values are important to me. I don’t feel the anger inside me any more, I’ve lost it all. I’m really pleased with how far I’ve come in the 4 sessions. My wife came back to me last week, she can see how much I’ve changed. I’m a lot more confident and happier and I can’t thank Jane enough. I’d really recommend Jane to anybody.

I had a major upset in my family life which left me completely depressed. I had no energy, no ambition, no interest in any thing. I would do those things which had to be done but I could tackle little beyond that. My work, and my relationships, suffered but I could see no way out of the situation.

By the use of simple but effective tools, skilfully applied, Jane enabled me to see that I could break the cycle of behaviour which was causing my depression. She provided me with the means to re-engage with my life, to take a renewed interest in my work and family and to move forward to a more promising future.

Dealing with a difficult teenager:

I was having a very difficult time with my 15 year-old child after the break-up pf my marriage. I was totally distraught feeling like the worst mother in the world. I made contact with Jane Hafren and we worked together regarding the problems I was having.

After my first 2 ½ hour session with Jane I went away feeling like there was a light at the end of the tunnel. Now I have completed 6 hours work with Jane and my relationship with my teenager is totally different.

Jane also helped me to discover some other things that I needed to deal with, and I have managed to do that, too.

This has to be the best thing I have ever done in my life. If I don’t achieve another thing in my life, I know I’m not a bad mother. In fact I’m a wonderful mother, and now my 15 year old also feels much happier and appreciates herself and me much more. I can’t thank you enough, Jane.
